Dear Guests,
This presentation is addressed directly to you because I believe that the true addressee of this guide should unequivocally be those visitors who want to adventure into this part of Sardinia far from the glamour of the beaches of the V.I.P.s.
It is particularly for those travelers whom I would like to invite to let themselves be captured by a fascination much less obtrusive but everywhere present in the territory being shown.
From the rough coasts of the West, the kingdom of the Griffon Vulture, you pass to gentle slopes, planted for millenniums with the grapes of Malvasia, a wine of great character and intense aroma.
From here you reach the heights of the Marghine Chain, with its mighty forests of oak and the tips of quaternary forests of yew, true living fossils in these mountains. After being delighted by the irresistibly triumphant greenery you will find the lunar landscape of the great mountains of limestone in the Baronie: Mount Albo with its thousands of hectares of canyon, with ravines and the jewel cases of the little quaternary relic forests, with the great Karstic resurgence that, in winter, roars from inside the mountain.
Everywhere Nuraghic sites tell you how ancient is the history of this land.
Last, though not in importance, you will find people. With their deep-rooted identity and with their traditions: their archaic singing, their crafts and their spontaneous attention to guests.
Happy adventuring!
The President of GAL
Mario Attene
